Excellent Neue Musik concert with Dixtuor by Miro Dobrowolny, Serendipity by Christoph Theiler, Espaces NRW – les silences de la ville, all for ensemble, and the premiere of Bogolutu by Johannes Sandberger for bassoon and ensemble; performed by the ART Ensemble NRW under the direction of Miro Dobrowolny. All four composers were in attendance.
Not only was it highly enjoyable; I had the rare opportunity to listen to two of the pieces again after a short time, which—regrettably—is rare with Neue Musik and should happen more often. Plus, the concert hall acoustics were more pleasing than the church acoustics two months ago, and the seating is actually made for humans, not for Ligottiesque Mythos horror creatures.
