박쥐 aka Thirst by Park Chan-wook

✅ Best Thérèse Raquin adaptation I know, only as contemporary psychological horror which, hold on— *touches earpiece* is also a body horror movie where the conflicted priest is the vampire.

✅ Kim Ok-vin is marvelously intense.

✅ I love to watch movies without prior knowledge by directors I trust, and here I was in for more surprises and subtexts than I was prepared for.

My favorite vampire movie will probably always be Near Dark, but this one’s close.

박쥐 aka Thirst by Park Chan-wook, 2009.
Watched at the Bambi theater on March 24, 2026, in its original language with subtitles.
