어쩔수가없다 (No Other Choice) by Park Chan-wook

✅ While almost everybody acts in morally reprehensible ways, the plot’s not based on “good vs. evil” but—just like in Greek tragedy—irreconcilable intentions and needs.

✅ A huge number of elements and complications is so deftly handled by script, directing, and cut that the movie never loses focus or becomes confusing.

✅ Perfect foil to Kurosawa’s 2008 トウキョウソナタ (Tōkyō Sonata): striking similarities, yet each progresses as if on different planets.

No Other Choice by Park Chan-wook, 2025.
Watched at the Bambi theater on February 9, 2026, in its original language with subtitles.
