There\u2019s no attempt at analysis beyond the obvious; the book doesn\u2019t engage with any previous interpretation or viewpoint; and sometimes it\u2019s even sloppy in ways I regularly frown upon when grading students\u2019 papers. For example, \u00abBereits nach dreizehn Monaten musste \u2039Der Neue Tag\u203a sein Erscheinen einstellen.\u00bb Why? Financial trouble? Political trouble? We never know. (And in case you\u2019re puzzled by the typography: yes, the Munich-based publisher uses Swiss-style instead of German-style guillemets.
